What is the best way to reserve your tours?
At Discover Hawaii Tours we give our groups specialized attention with our trained reservationists. To find out more information on our group tours please feel free to contact us through this site or over the phone at 808-690-9056 for a no-obligation quote.

What time is your office open?
Our Honolulu Office is open between 6am-9pm HST. We have reservationists that have been specially trained in accommodating groups and writing quotes for your next private excursion.

What ages is the child rate for?
Our child rates apply for children in their own seat, ages 2-11. Children over age 11 are ticketed as adults and the adult rate applies.

Are your guides CPR certified?
All of our tour guides are required to have a current certification in American Heart Association CPR as well as standard first aid.

What will I be riding in on my tour?
Our company will outfit your group with the appropriate vehicle based on your group’s needs. We have the resources for many different types of vehicles. The most popular options are 12-passenger executive vans for smaller groups and 25-passenger deluxe mini-coach buses for medium sized groups. Feel free to contact us about our current options for larger groups.

Where will I be picked-up?
Pick-ups for our standard group tours will be offered from Waikiki hotels. If your private charter requires a different pick-up location we can definitely give additional options for your group.

How do I know it’s your company when we are picked up?
We give all of our groups the vehicle information and exact pick-up location prior to the day of their tour. All of our expert guides are professionally dressed in red polo shirts.

Why do you offer so many different Tours?
Here at Discover Hawaii Tours we know that each group has different needs out of their vacation. We strive to give our guests numerous options when choosing how they will see our beautiful islands. Our reservationists are happy to discus the many tours we offer, or help you to design your own private charter! Just feel free to contact us by email or over the phone for personalized assistance.

Can I change my tour?
If your plans change more than 48 hours before the start of your tour, just call our reservations department at 808-690-9056 to change your tour. There is no fee to change standard tours. Please note that sometimes private charters will have additional information on changes and cancelations. Your personal reservationist will explain if there is any additional information you need to know about your group tour.

Do you accept customer input in your tours?
At the end of each tour, our guides will pass out comment cards to all the members of your group so that we can find out how to better serve our groups in the future. In addition our quality control department will contact the group leader by e-mail or phone after your tour. Our quality control manager, office manager, and company president read any feedback we receive and take guest suggestions into account when creating new tours or updating our current selection.

What is the “No-Bag” policy at Pearl Harbor?
Pearl Harbor is an active military base, and because of safety concerns they have enacted a strict “no-bag” policy at all of the Pearl Harbor historical sites. This includes purses, tote-bags, camera bags, diaper bags, fanny packs, etc. For groups that find it necessary to bring bags with them, there is a baggage check area for a cost of $3 per bags. Most of our groups have planned ahead so they can condense bags for a lower cost.

Can I bring a bag with medical supplies in it?
We have had groups on our trip whose have required having such things as diabetes supplies or other medical items with them during their tour. We suggest bringing as small of a bag as possible with medical documentation stating the necessity of the supplies. In the past the Park Rangers at Pearl Harbor have been able to allow documented medical supplies in a small bag.

Are there opportunities to eat at Pearl Harbor?
Pearl Harbor does have a snack shop as well as a concession stand near the visitor’s center. Over on Ford Island there are additional dining options such as sit-down facilities. More options can be included in your private charter, please inquire for information.

Do I get to board the Arizona Memorial?
All of our group tours to Pearl Harbor allow time for your group to take the Navy shuttle boat over to the memorial so that your group can view the battleship underneath and reflect in the Shrine room.

Why are the tour times so early?
Pearl Harbor releases their tickets first-come, first-serve at 7am. It is our priority to have your guide standing in line for your group’s tickets by 7am. Your group will get to sit back and relax or view the exhibits while your guide waits for those coveted tickets.

Will my tickets be sent by mail?
In Discover Hawaii Tour’s efforts to be eco-friendly, we do not require paper ticketing. You will be sent a confirmation letter of your group’s tour details by e-mail; this is only for your records and does not need to be given to the guide at the time of your group tour. Picture Id will suffice in identifying your party when the guide picks you up. All quotes are also sent by e-mail.

Do you offer tours in languages other than English?
We have added a foreign language option to our group tours. For an additional fee we can provide a ride-along guide to translate for your group in many different common languages. Please contact our group reservationists for more details.

Can I bring my camera?
Absolutely! We want your group to be able to capture all the memories of your Pearl Harbor experience. Please note that cameras with telephoto lenses (more than 6inches) are not permitted at Pearl Harbor since it is an active military base.

Do you accommodate wheelchairs?
Our buses can accommodate collapsible wheelchairs. If a passenger in your group is not able to leave their wheelchair, please contact our reservations department to see if a wheelchair-lift bus is available for your tour.

How far in advance should I book my tour?
We suggest taking the first steps with our group reservationists as soon as possible so we can help you plan the perfect group tour on your trip to Hawaii. Email or call us today to start planning your party’s excursions!

Do you have experience with senior citizens groups?
Absolutely. Since our beginnings in 1995 we have been able to serve the needs of senior citizen groups on all our tours. Most of our tours do not include a lot of walking, for further details on a specific tour please contact our reservations department. Private charters with limited walking can be designed based on the needs of your group.

What about gratuities?
Standard group tour prices do not include tour guide gratuities. We suggest a 15% gratuity for your tour to your guide. For group tours and private charters we can arrange to include suggested gratuities in your quote or you are welcome to tip your tour guide in cash at the end of your tour.
